River House, Inc. - formerly known as River House Shelter & Domestic Crisis Services - is a local nonprofit agency that serves victims and survivors of homelessness, domestic abuse and sexual violence in four northern Michigan counties: Crawford County, Ogemaw County, Oscoda County and Roscommon County. The main facility is located in Grayling, Michigan and there is an outreach office in West Branch, Michigan. Advocates will travel to locations throughout the four counties to meet with clients.

The Mission of River House, Inc. is to provide safety and empowerment to survivors of domestic & sexual violence and the homeless. River House, Inc. has been serving local communities since 1986, by providing crisis counseling, emergency shelter, group counseling and support, as well as legal advocacy and community education.
Our Web site is designed to serve victims and survivors, volunteers willing to help victims and those looking for information about domestic and sexual abuse services in the region served.

New volunteer training will begin June 2008. Learn the dynamics of domestic and sexual violence and homelessness while volunteering your time for survivors.
